1/4 oz American Gold Eagle
The American Gold Eagle Series was launched in 1986 by the United States Mint in 1986. This signified the resurgence of large-scale American gold coin production, which had been dormant since 1933. These coins feature an elegant image of Lady Liberty on the front and the American bald eagle on the back.
About The 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle
The 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle's obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens' renowned 1907 depiction of Lady Liberty, with her holding a torch and an olive branch, set against a backdrop of sun rays and the U.S. Capitol Building, encircled by stars. On the reverse of the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Coins, collectors will find one of two designs: Miley Busiek's family of bald eagles, used from 1986 to mid-2021, and Jennie Norris' bald eagle head, which has been in use since mid-2021.
