Every 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin until 2023 features a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The portrait has changed over time: Arnold Machin’s design was used from the coin’s debut in 1979 until 1989, followed by Dora de Pedery-Hunt’s version from 1990 to 2003. From 2004 to 2023, Susanna Blunt’s representation has been in use. In 2024, a portrait of King Charles III can be found on the obverse. The reverse side of the coin consistently displays the iconic sugar maple leaf, accompanied by inscriptions of the issuing country, purity, metal content, and weight since the coin’s inception.
First produced in 1982 by the Royal Canadian Mint.
