The South African Silver Krugerrand Coins feature a left-profile bust of Paul Kruger on the obverse side. Paul Kruger was born on October 10, 1825, in Steynsburg, Cape Colony, which is now a part of South Africa. He grew up in a Boer farming community and was of German and Dutch descent. His early experiences shaped his strong commitment to Afrikaner nationalism and the preservation of Boer culture and independence. The reverse side features an image of the Springbok antelope. This species of antelope is native to southern Africa and has been depicted on South African coins since the 1930s. It is also the official symbol of the modern Republic of South Africa.
Production began in 2017 by the South African Mint & Rand Refinery.
Each coin is made of 1 troy ounce of .999 pure silver.
Available in individual flips, protective tubes of 25 coins, or mint-sealed boxes of 500 coins.
They carry a face value of 1 Rand (R1) and is fully backed by the South African government.
The coins are available from random years of mintage.
These coins come in uncirculated condition and may have toning or slight contact marks.
On the obverse is a bust of Paul Kruger.
The reverse features a Springbok antelope.
